TH!NK nominert til britisk designpris
TH!NK City er nominert til den prestisjefylte prisen Brit Insurance Designs of the Year, som deles ut av Design Museum i London. Nominasjonene går til de mest innovative og fremtidsrettede produkter og løsninger internasjonalt.
TH!NK city vil samtidig – sammen med et utvalg av de nominerte til Brit Insurance Designs of the Year - stilles ut på Design Museum i perioden 12. februar – 14. juni 2009. TH!NK city ble nominert av den anerkjente britiske designeren Sebastian Conran, som sier i sin begrunnelse:
Cute-but-purposeful, it exudes ‘form, follows function’ and fashion too. The styling of the shoulder line and well-defined wheel arches give the car a stance that promises a good driving experience. Details like the indicator lights flush in the wheel arches, indicate attention to detail too. The spacious interior is designed to give the driver a familiar environment, with simple instrumentation where the emphasis is on providing a clear view of the surroundings. The low glass rear hatch allows the driver to see right down to the bumper of the car behind when reversing – a boon for parking in tight spots. The regenerative braking allows a useful range of up to 180 kilometres as well as snappy acceleration and a top speed of over 100 kilometres per hour.
Tidligere nominerte til denne designprisen er blant andre Apples’ IPhone, Nintendo WII og Fiat 500.
De nominerte produktene faller innenfor syv kategorier – arkitektur, mote, møbel, grafisk, interaktiv, product eller transport, og en vinner for hver kategori velges av en internasjonal jury og en totalvinner vil motta Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2009.
